23 Using the Site ② Choosing How to Enter Information, and the AI Helper
Question for this chapter. Can a household begin from documents it already has, or from a written description of its situation, instead of typing every value by hand?
Answer. Yes. The input step offers three starting routes: direct entry, uploading documents, and an AI input helper that reads a written description or a photo or PDF. Uploading documents and using the helper both send text or files outside the site for AI processing, and a consent box must be ticked before anything leaves the device. On every route, a value the AI read or estimated stays out of the calculation until the filer confirms it in the confirmation table.
What to check
- Look at what you already hold, such as last year's return or an employer's wage statement, then pick the route that fits.
- Remember that document uploads and the AI helper send material outside the site, while direct entry does not use AI at all.
- The AI features have a per-visitor daily limit; once it is reached, entry simply continues by hand.
- In the confirmation table, check each value badge and give extra attention to values the AI estimated rather than read.
- Photos are reduced in size on your device before sending, so a sharp image or a PDF is easier to confirm.
What to confirm. Confirm that every row you want used in the calculation is marked Confirmed, since read or estimated values do not count until you do.
One-line summary. Choose a starting route that suits the papers you have, knowing every route ends at the same confirmation step before anything is calculated.
